North Middlesex Regional had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it four. They came up short against the Lunenburg Blue Knights, falling 12-6. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Patriots' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Kaylee Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered nine earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Giada Manolakis made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Manolakis is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kate Gallagher also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
As for Lunenburg, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1. They haven't had any issues with North Middlesex Regional recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
On Lunenburg's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Aria McCarthy gave up just two earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lilly Grebinar, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Chloe Koziol, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Coming up, North Middlesex Regional will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Marlborough at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lunenburg, they will venture away from home to challenge Littleton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
