Basketball Recap: Charleston Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Charleston waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 78-54 margin over the Leopold Wildcats. The Bluejays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Charleston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenez Lane, who shot 57% from the field en route to 19 points and three steals. Lane is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shilyn Henderson, who went 10-for-14 to rack up 20 points.

Charleston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive games.

Charleston now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Leopold, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

Charleston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-58 win against South Pemiscot on the 12th. As for Leopold, they will venture away from home to square off against Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
