After a string of four wins, Preston's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Bear Lake Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Preston took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 25-22.

Bear Lake found their leader in sophomore Sharli Lufkin, who had 14 digs.

Preston's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Bear Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Preston and Bear Lake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings. The Indians will take on Marsh Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (32 vs. 129). Meanwhile, Bear Lake (ranked eighth) will meet Teton (ranked 126th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
