Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wooster). They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Cloverleaf Colts on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Generals as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Sydney McAfoos made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. McAfoos was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Emily Boyd was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Allie Murzin was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
Wooster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Wooster picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-14. As for Cloverleaf, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
