Weeki Wachee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paige Atwater, who scored 17 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Atwater has scored at least 25% of Weeki Wachee's points. Marlee Schumacher was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Nature Coast Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaida Grier. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
The win got Weeki Wachee back to even at 1-1. As for Nature Coast Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weeki Wachee is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Citrus at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th. Citrus comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
