Mendon put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 62-0 win over the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hornets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Fighting Tigers are ranked 102nd).
It was another big night for Owen Gorham, who rushed for 141 yards and four touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Gorham, who rushed for 50 yards and one score.
Mendon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carter Huston and Tristen Wood. Wood got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
