The Carlin Railroaders can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 48-40 victory over McDermitt. This was a revenge game for Carlin, as the team was forced to settle for a 40-37 loss when these two played last Wednesday.
McDermitt's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shandon Camas, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Camas hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Warrick Crutcher, who scored six points along with five steals.
Even though they lost, McDermitt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Carlin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-18. As for McDermitt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Owyhee the next time they take the court. Carlin will head out to face the Braves at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
