The Pike Central Chargers were the 70-66 winner over the Forest Park Rangers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Pike Central suffered a rough 65-44 loss at the hands of Forest Park on Friday. While losing is never fun, Pike Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Forest Park is ranked 97th).
When it comes to explaining why Pike Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Quade Morton. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Julian Gish, who scored 7 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Pike Central and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Forest Park, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Pike Central will head out on the road to face off against Princeton at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Forest Park, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Tell City at 8:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
