Le Roy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Avon Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Le Roy strolled past Dansville with points to spare, taking the game 61-43.
It was another big night for Merritt Holly Jr., who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaric Luce, who scored 11 points.
Avon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 59-35 margin over Livonia. 59 seems to be a good number for Avon as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Le Roy's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Avon, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Things could have been worse for Le Roy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-55 loss to Avon when the teams last played back in February. Can Le Roy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
