Softball Recap: Lavaca Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lavaca entered their tilt with Mountainburg on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Dragons 15-4. The result was nothing new for the Golden Arrows, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Macie Irby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Kyla Force was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Mayli Stockton was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Lavaca's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Mountainburg, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lavaca will square off against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lavaca is facing Paris at the right time seeing as Paris is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Mountainburg, they will face off against Alpena at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
