Having just played yesterday, the Branford Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves at 8:30 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Branford is ranked 541st, while Saint Francis Catholic is ranked 524th).
Branford pushed their score all the way to 64 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-64 to Trenton. Branford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meadowbrook Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Saint Francis Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 55-47 win over the Mustangs.
William Collett was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Banks, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Branford has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
Branford didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Saint Francis Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 70-64 win.
