The Richfield Tigers stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Hagerman at home to the tune of 51-22. Richfield pushed the score to 43-16 by the end of the third, a deficit Hagerman had little chance of recovering from.
Richfield had a senior duo take command as Kasey Hendren almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists and Shelby Jones dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Hendren is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Kent, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Hagerman saw an underclassman step up: Krickit Wise scored seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Wise pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hagerman struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Richfield racked up 12 assists.
Richfield has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Hagerman, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13-1 record this season.
Richfield will head out on the road to face off against Dietrich at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dietrich is coming into the game with three straight wins at home, so Richfield is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Hagerman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
