The Eagle's View Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Snyder Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Eagle's View has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Bishop Snyder will arrive with seven straight victories.
Eagle's View lost 23-13 to St. Johns Country Day on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (11), the Warriors still had to take the loss.
Naomi Cephas was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Foley, who scored two runs and stole a base.
While Bishop Snyder didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Peniel Baptist Academy a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The two-run effort marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Peniel Baptist Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Caitlyn Boshell, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 18 Ks (she gave up two walks). Boshell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bishop Snyder's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Gotto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Bishop Snyder pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Eagle's View, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eagle's View has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop Snyder struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Eagle's View suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Bishop Snyder in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Eagle's View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
