After a string of 15 wins, Alexander's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Harrison Hoyas by a score of 2-1. The Cougars were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the five matchups prior), but the Hoyas' pitcher proved too tough.

Alexander saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erin Vineyard, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Alexander suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 24-3. As for Harrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

Alexander will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Central at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2.2, the Lions 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Harrison, they will venture away from home to square off against Allatoona at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Buccaneers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
