Homestead has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Marathon Dolphins at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Homestead is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Marathon in Florida (Homestead is ranked 114th, while Marathon is ranked 565th).
Homestead scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took down Coral Shores 81-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Homestead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah Rodriguez , who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Rodriguez. Another player making a difference was Moses Ferguson , who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marathon pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coral Shores. Marathon has not had much luck with Coral Shores recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Homestead pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Marathon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
