Volleyball Recap: Poly Starts Season with Win at Home

Poly gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Narbonne Gauchos. This was payback for the Parrots, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 24-26, 25-12, 25-18.

Emma Meza paced Poly's offense, picking up eight kills. Meza got some help from Alexa Sandoval and her 16 assists. Isabella Campuzano controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Narbonne and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Poly will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grant at 4:00 p.m. on September 4. As for Narbonne, they will square off against Peninsula at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
