The Friendly Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. The match between them and Fairmont Heights wasn't particularly close, with Friendly falling 68-52. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Friendly in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khadir Johnson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Johnson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Joel Danquah, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Friendly has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Fairmont Heights, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.
Friendly will head out on the road to square off against the Yellowjackets at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Gwynn Park will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Fairmont Heights, they will face off against the at TBD on Tuesday. College Park Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Hornets are ranked 52nd).
