After a string of three wins, The Scarsdale Raiders''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of John Jay by a score of 17-14. Scarsdale lost against John Jay in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 20-15 score last time.
Despite the loss, Scarsdale still got an impressive performance from Camden Matles, who gained 110 total yards and a touchdown.
Scarsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for John Jay, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scarsdale will square off against Mamaroneck at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Mamaroneck is ranked 196th, while Scarsdale is ranked 195th). John Jay is on the road again on Friday and play against Arlington at 5:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Arlington will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
