Softball Recap: Monroe Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Monroe didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Eagles 11-4 on Wednesday. Considering the Hornets have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Monroe's third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Monroe will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. As for Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, they will welcome Roger Bacon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
