Florence is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Valley Christian is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Gophers will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Florence 3.3, Valley Christian 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Florence's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Blue Ridge as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Gophers haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Adrian Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Wyatt Stenson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zane O'Rourke, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Florence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blue Ridge only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian posted their closest win since March 19th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Crismon 5-3.
The team relied heavily on Brock Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6-2.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Florence has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Valley Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .503. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Florence might still be hurting after the 16-6 loss they got from Valley Christian in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Will the Gophers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
