Softball Recap: Maxwell Wins Going Away Against Williams

Maxwell won the last time they faced Williams and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Yellowjackets. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Jada Lazarus, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Lizzy Sanapaw was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.

Maxwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .811. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Maxwell and bumps their season record up to 8-10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Maxwell will challenge Biggs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Williams, they will venture away from home to face off against Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
