Softball Recap: Central Springs Wins Going Away Against Clear Lake

Central Springs barely beat Clear Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Lions 18-4 on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

Central Springs has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clear Lake, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Springs will host Newman Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.2, the Knights 0.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Clear Lake, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Iowa Falls-Alden at 7:30 p.m.
