Basketball Recap: St. John Skates Past Nickerson with Ease

St. John was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Nickerson on Thursday. The Tigers breezed past the Panthers to the tune of 59-24. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Nickerson had strong showings from Centhiyan Bankston, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals, and Aleah Collins, who posted two points and six rebounds. That was a full 58.3% of the Panthers' points, marking the fourth time in a row Bankston has had more than a third of the team's points.

St. John's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Nickerson, they are on a 31-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

St. John wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-36 win against LaCrosse on the 27th. As for Nickerson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-20 defeat against Chapman on the 27th.
