The Holtville Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The matchup between them and Reeltown wasn't particularly close, with Holtville falling 55-38. Holtville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Reeltown found their leader in underclassman London O'Neal, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. O'Neal is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leeandra Hooks, who scored 16 points.
Holtville has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Reeltown, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holtville will challenge the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Elmore County is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Reeltown, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Panthers at 10:30 a.m. on February 3rd. Lanett is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.
