The Bradford Christian Academy Sentinels were the 87-76 winner over the Newman AAA Cardinals when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Bradford Christian Academy was dealt a 88-53 loss at the hands of Newman AAA on Sunday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newman AAA to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Mela, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The matchup was Mela's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Hudson Geremia was another key contributor, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 1 assists.
Bradford Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Newman AAA, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Bradford Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brewster Academy Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024. Newman AAA will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th.
