The Manhattan Tigers lost against the Jefferson Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Manhattan's tough 64-44 defeat to Jefferson might stick with them for a while. Manhattan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Ryian Eveland, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eveland has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Stevens, who scored six points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Manhattan's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for Jefferson, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manhattan will take on Broadwater at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Ennis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ennis has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 291 points over their last five matchups.
