The Northside Christian Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Carrollwood Day Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Northside Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Shorecrest Prep, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Chargers a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Mustangs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th.

Northside Christian got a great performance from Ronald Causby as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Causby a new career-high.
On the hitting side, James Pitts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Ashton Cox was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Carrollwood Day made easy work of Clearwater Central Catholic on Tuesday and carried off a 13-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.
Nick Riedel tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Carrollwood Day got a massive performance out of Ashton Brown, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run was Brown's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Julian Earle, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Carrollwood Day was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clearwater Central Catholic only posted a batting average of .192.
Northside Christian pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Carrollwood Day, their record now sits at 14-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northside Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Carrollwood Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Northside Christian skirted past Carrollwood Day 1-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
