Volleyball Recap: Kerman Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

While Kerman's win against Minarets wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2022.

Katharyn Shubin paced Kerman's offense, picking up five kills. Shubin got some help from Vanessa Quinto and her five assists. Quinto was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Despite the defeat, Minarets saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Olivia Fontanilla had 15 digs.

Kerman is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Minarets, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Kerman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Liberty on the 13th. As for Minarets, they will be taking part in a tournament against Sunnyside at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
