Baseball Recap: Madison's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Madison was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Middleton on Friday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 20-10 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Caleb Marshall made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Alexander, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Garrett Pickens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Madison's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-13-1. As for Middleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Middleton, they will challenge Clarksburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
