The Jefferson Mustangs will challenge the Burbank Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Jefferson is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since April 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Edison by a score of 3-1. The Mustangs have struggled against the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Aiden Urdiales made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 13 games.

Meanwhile, Burbank had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Voks a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Peyton Bernsen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Nathaniel Boone was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mason Rendon, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Burbank's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
