They snuck past Pamlico County with a 54-50 win. This was payback for Northside - Pinetown, who suffered a 58-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the defeat, Pamlico County had strong showings from Dania Galvan-Veliz, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Sydney Whitley-Reese, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Galvan-Veliz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nya Clark, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Northside - Pinetown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Pamlico County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.
