Stanwood dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They took  a  22-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Vernon Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty 42  points in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Mount Vernon, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 31.0 points over those games.
 A big part of Mount Vernon's  win came down to the chemistry between  Kaiden Anderson and his top target  Gavin Brown. Anderson threw for 129 yards and two  TDs while  Brown picked up 70 receiving yards and one  score.
As of now, neither Stanwood nor Mount Vernon have any future games scheduled.
