The Clinton Prairie Gophers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 47-39 to North White. Clinton Prairie was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North White apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Gophers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hyleigh Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals. Wilson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Weliver, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Autumn Reif was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds for North White. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sable George, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Clinton Prairie bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for North White, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-13.
Clinton Prairie will take on Seeger at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North White and Rochester will round out the year against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at. Hopefully Rochester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
