The Tuslaw Mustangs have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Tuslaw is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Saints in Ohio (the Mustangs are ranked 140th, while the Saints are ranked 796th).
Tuslaw put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Manchester, posting a 59-21 win at home. While fans of Tuslaw might be used to big wins, the 38-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Tuslaw can attribute much of their success to Breanna Mccabe, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Destiny Dulkoski, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Dulkoski is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Emma Rowbotham was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Central Catholic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. Their tough 52-30 defeat to East Canton might stick with them for a while.
Tuslaw is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
