The Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Weskan, posting a 57-17 victory on the road. With that win, Wheatland-Grinnell brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Leading Wheatland-Grinnell to victory were Natalie Bixenman and Karoline Schroeder. Bixenman scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Schroeder dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Schroeder is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Beckman, who scored 12 points.
Wheatland-Grinnell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Weskan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Wheatland-Grinnell will face off against the Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheylin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Weskan's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Titans at 3:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Triplains/Brewster is ranked 336th, while the Coyotes are ranked 341st).
