Altamont has won nine straight games at home, while Duchesne has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Longhorns will welcome the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Friday, Altamont had just enough and edged out Milford 11-10.

Kiley Crapo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hazlie Bagley was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Hadley Mecham was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Duchesne got themselves on the board against Rowland Hall on Wednesday, but Rowland Hall never followed suit. They blew past the Winged Lions 15-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by eight runs or more this season.
Kira Grant was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grant was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Duchesne got a massive performance out of Claire Anderton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Prezley Farnsworth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Duchesne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 15-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Duchesne is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Altamont, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
Duchesne's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Altamont has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Duchesne, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Altamont keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Altamont beat Duchesne 6-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
