After three games on the road, Clymer Central is heading back home. They will take on the Brocton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Clymer Central suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Ellicottville by a score of 35-33.
Defeat or not, Clymer Central got some senior leadership from Jonathan Massing and Kaden Beckerink. Massing scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Beckerink. scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Massing hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games.
Clymer Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Brocton was beaten by Westfield 82-37 last Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brocton has scored all season.
Clymer Central bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Brocton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Clymer Central strolled past Brocton in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 50-35. Does Clymer Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brocton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
