Marshall was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sullivan on Saturday. Kyla Gustafson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, McKenzie Davis was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lynn Welborn, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Marshall lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sullivan didn't launched any home runs.

Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-6 defeat against Terre Haute North Vigo on the 12th. As for Sullivan, they have also already played their next match, an 8-7 loss against Indian Creek on the 15th.
