Bell hasn't had much luck against Legacy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Bell has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bell is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Garfield, falling 18-0.
Meanwhile, Legacy waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Tigers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Katelen Pedroza and Dail Dorado made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Pedroza tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dorado pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pedroza has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Pedroza went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Dorado went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other pitching news, Savannah Medina looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Legacy let Isabella Medina and Priscilla Medina run wild. Isabella went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Priscilla went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephanie Salas, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Legacy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .480 or higher in three consecutive games.
Legacy pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bell, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Bell suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Legacy when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
