Castle View is 2-7 against Douglas County since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sabercats will head out to face off against the Huskies at 4:15 p.m. Castle View's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Douglas County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Castle View was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against ThunderRidge on Monday. The Sabercats never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Sabercats have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Castle View got a great performance from Gabriel Grandy as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Grandy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tommy Feldhake, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jacob Allen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Douglas County posted their closest victory since March 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Highlands Ranch 7-6.
Gunner Tinari was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Maicah Cabral was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Douglas County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highlands Ranch only posted an OBP of .353.
Castle View pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Douglas County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.
Everything went Castle View's way against Douglas County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Castle View made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sabercats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
