The South Pontotoc Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Bruce 71-39 on the road. That 71-39 margin sets a new team best for South Pontotoc this season.
Jay Cole Williams and Kobe Hooper certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Williams scored nine points along with four steals, while Hooper scored 15 points. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Williams.
Bruce struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
South Pontotoc is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Bruce, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
South Pontotoc will be home for the holidays to greet North Pontotoc at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bruce, they will head out on the road to face off against Eupora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
