Atholton and Reservoir are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Atholton Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Reservoir 'Gators at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Atholton has four straight victories, Reservoir has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Atholton beat Centennial 54-48.
Atholton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camden Thibeault, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Deion Dent, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Reservoir's 16-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-47 walloping at the hands of Wilde Lake last Friday. Reservoir has not had much luck with Wilde Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Atholton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Reservoir, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Atholton came up short against Reservoir in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 56-48. Can Atholton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
