The Hillcrest Jaguars the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Blount Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hillcrest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Blount is ranked 124th).
Last Monday, Hillcrest came up short against Escambia County and fell 46-36. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hillcrest in their matchups with Escambia County: they've now lost six in a row.
Hillcrest's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sonija Evans, who scored five points along with ten steals and six rebounds, and Khloe Clark who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Evans has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, Blount entered their tilt with LeFlore with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Blount walked away with a 63-50 win over LeFlore on Monday.
Donniya Torrey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points.
Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Blount, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10.
