Aaron Banks and Jack Roberts provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Guerin Catholic. The connection was good for 88 yards, the longest such play in Freelance this season.
Noblesville Lions was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 22nd to 14th in the league. Earlier in the week, Noblesville Lions triumphed over Heritage Christian 34-22.
Blake Levy threw for 461 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 33-56 with 3 interceptions.
Tommy McGowan was a key player and the best on defense this week as Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory beat Guerin Catholic. The 5-foot-9 senior grabbed 2 sacks.
Spencer Jones was the best receiver in the league this week as Tecumseh beat Springs Valley. Jones racked up 5 receptions for 202 yards. Spencer Oxley helped Tecumseh's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 57 yards.
Trinity Lutheran's Levy and Jonathan Rollins led Freelance in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Levy has thrown for 2,326 yards this season, while Rollins has 45 catches for 902 yards. Alex Kimack from Indianapolis Bishop Chatard leads the league in rushing with 1,170 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Indianapolis Arsenal Technical and Indianapolis Cathedral. The Titans comes into the matchup ranked 25th in the state, while the Fighting Irish ranks ninth.
The Cougars' Rollins is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 98 receiving yards against Oakland/Kansas to hit that benchmark. He has recorded 45 catches for 902 yards this year.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Shenandoah beat Monroe Central 43-12. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Raiders.
