Rockport-Fulton has gone 9-1 against Ingleside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Rockport-Fulton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Ingleside likes a good challenge.
Rockport-Fulton took a 20-point loss the last time they faced off against Cuero, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Pirates made off with a 57-56 win over the Gobblers. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pirates' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Gobblers are ranked 123rd).

Rockport-Fulton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Traey Alvarado led the charge by rushing for 206 yards and two scores while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Alvarado is now averaging an impressive 111.9 rushing yards per game. Jaxon Keown also helped out as he racked up 138 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockport-Fulton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 454 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Another reason for the win was Rockport-Fulton's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Brady Cunningham, Kam Alston, and Aiden Williams, who each picked up one sack apiece. Cunningham was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 11 total tackles.
Meanwhile, Ingleside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Robstown, falling 33-7.
Rockport-Fulton will have to keep a close watch on Jayden Techur and Landon Younk, a pair of players who had a big impact on Ingleside's prior game. Techur picked up 146 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Younk threw for 226 yards and one TD while completing 72.4% of his passes. Techur showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 55 yards.
Rockport-Fulton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ingleside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Rockport-Fulton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 301.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Ingleside, though, as they've been averaging only 83.9 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Rockport-Fulton against Ingleside in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-14 win. In that matchup, the Pirates amassed a halftime lead of 28-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
