The Monomoy Sharks will take on the Plymouth North Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Monomoy is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
On Friday, Monomoy was able to grind out a solid victory over Falmouth, taking the game 8-4.
Kinsey Lister spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Bella Bellefeuille was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Alana Lojko was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plymouth North). They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over North Quincy on Thursday.
Chloe Stasinos made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Plymouth North got a big performance out of Cora Gervasi, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Gervasi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophie Walter, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Plymouth North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Monomoy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.5 runs thus far. As for Plymouth North, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9.
Monomoy couldn't quite finish off Plymouth North in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 and fell 6-4. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
