Even though the Umatilla Bulldogs have not done well against the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday. Umatilla narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past Mount Dora Christian Academy  62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory Umatilla has posted  yet this season.
 Umatilla got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Herly Brutus out in front who  scored eight points along with 12  rebounds and eight  assists. Brutus is absolutely dominating the  rebound category: he's  posted at least eight every time he's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Tyler Demetski, who  scored seven points along with eight  rebounds and five  steals.
 The  victory was  the fourth in a row for Umatilla, bringing their record for this year to 12-3. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 11-6.
 Umatilla will head out on the road to  take on  Mount Dora at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Mount Dora is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Mount Dora Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against McKeel Academy at 1:30  p.m.  on January 13th.
