Sadly, the KIPP Navigate College Prep Tigers are still looking for their first win of the season after 14 games. They were dealt a 67-24 defeat at the hands of University Prep Academy on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to KIPP Navigate College Prep of the 80-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mathias Woodaj, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Berhe, who scored 15 points.
KIPP Navigate College Prep's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for University Prep Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Navigate College Prep will take on Cindy Avitia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University Prep Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crystal Springs Uplands at 5:30 p.m. on February 10th.
