Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Burlington

Burlington took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Idalia, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolves on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Burlington was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-16, 18-25, 25-21, 15-9.

Their offense was headlined by Lynzee Neal and Bethany Cure, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Rayvonn Holmes and her 27 assists. Cure was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Burlington's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Idalia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Burlington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Limon on the 16th. As for Idalia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Kit Carson on the 16th.
