El Cerrito is a perfect 10-0 against Richmond since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Gauchos will take on the Oilers at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
If De Anza wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played El Cerrito, they should've done a better job of containing Angelina Franklin. The Gauchos blew past the Dons 3-0 on Monday for which the team can thank Franklin, who had five digs and five aces. She has been hot recently, having also posted 13 or more assists the last three times she's played.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: El Cerrito took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Cerrito to victory, but perhaps none more so than Augusta Hatfield, who had nine kills and two aces. That's the most kills Hatfield has posted over her last eight matches. Elsa Graff was another key player, getting five kills, four digs, and two blocks.
They weren't the only good servers: El Cerrito was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Richmond waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 3-0 win.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Richmond was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-1, 25-9.
El Cerrito's record is now 8-5. As for Richmond, their record now sits at 11-7.
El Cerrito beat Richmond 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gauchos since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
